The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Bakersfield Field Office has issued seasonal fire restrictions. This comes as part of the BLM’s mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The BLM oversees more than 245 million acres of public land, primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska.

In addition to managing the surface land, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the United States. Fire restrictions are a common measure taken to prevent wildfires and maintain the health of these lands.

The seasonal fire restrictions are crucial for the protection of natural resources and public safety. With the arrival of warmer weather, the risk of fires increases. The BLM’s fire restrictions aim to minimize this risk and ensure the preservation of the lands for future generations. More information about these restrictions can be found on the BLM’s official website.
