“Delta Airlines Boosts Access to 2025 Balloon Fiesta with New Seasonal Flights from Detroit and Seattle”

Delta Airlines is expanding its seasonal flights to Albuquerque (ABQ) by adding new nonstop routes from Detroit and Seattle, just in time for the 2025 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. The new services from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will be available during the 9-day event, scheduled for October 4-12. In addition to these new routes, Delta will also add a fourth flight from Atlanta and resume JFK service for the Balloon Fiesta schedule.

The new flights are expected to make it easier for people from the Midwest and Pacific Northwest to attend the world-renowned ballooning event. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a significant event for the region, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and providing a significant boost to the local economy and tourism sector.

Tickets for the new flights will be available for purchase starting May 31. The Albuquerque International Sunport, which is the largest commercial airport in New Mexico, serves as the gateway to this event. Delta Airlines, a carrier that served more than 200 million customers in 2024, continues to seek innovative ways to enhance customer experience and accessibility to events like the Balloon Fiesta.
