“Celebrating 25 Years of Preserving America’s Ancient Canyons”

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Canyons of the Ancients, a public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska. The BLM manages over 245 million acres of this public land on behalf of the American people.

In addition to the surface land, the BLM also oversees 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The mission of the BLM is to maintain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the enjoyment and use of both current and future generations.

The 25th anniversary of the Canyons of the Ancients highlights the importance of these lands and the role of the BLM in their management. The celebration serves as a reminder of the vast natural resources and beauty contained within these public lands and the responsibility to preserve them for future generations.
