The organization’s mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of these public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

In addition to the surface land, BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The upcoming adoption event is part of the BLM’s efforts to manage and protect the wild horse and burro populations on these lands.

The event will provide an opportunity for the public to adopt a wild horse or burro, contributing to the management and conservation of these iconic American animals. The BLM and NNCC hope that the event will raise awareness about the importance of protecting and preserving America’s public lands and the wildlife that inhabit them.
