The proposed geothermal leasing project is part of BLM’s mission to ensure the use and enjoyment of these lands for present and future generations. Geothermal energy, derived from the Earth’s inner heat, is a sustainable and renewable source of power that can help meet energy needs while minimizing environmental impact.

The BLM’s request for public input is a standard part of its process to ensure that all stakeholders, including local communities, have a say in the management and use of public lands. The agency encourages those interested to provide their views and comments on the proposed project.
