A fire has broken out near Highway 40, east of Massadona, as reported by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The BLM oversees approximately 245 million acres of public land, predominantly in 12 western states, including Alaska, representing the American public. It also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the country.

The BLM’s mission is to maintain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the benefit and pleasure of current and future generations. The agency works towards the sustainable management of public lands, balancing their use for various purposes such as recreation, grazing, timber harvesting, and mineral development.
