The Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The monument, managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), is part of the 245 million acres of public land overseen by the BLM primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska. The BLM’s mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the enjoyment of present and future generations.

In addition to the surface land, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. This responsibility involves managing the various natural resources found beneath the surface, such as minerals, oil, and gas.

The anniversary celebration of the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument marks a decade of preserving this unique and diverse ecosystem for public use and enjoyment. The event is a testament to the BLM’s commitment to conserving America’s natural heritage for future generations.
