“Park West Shuts Gates for Four Days: Alternate Entrances in Effect”

The West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park will be temporarily closed for four days, from August 25 to August 29. The closure will affect both inbound and outbound traffic, commencing at 6am on Monday, August 25 and lasting until 6pm on Thursday, August 29. The announcement was first made on the Friends of Joshua Tree website.

During the closure period, park visitors will need to use the alternate entrances at Twentynine Palms or Cottonwood. It is not specified why the West Entrance is being closed, but visitors are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
