The issues began on August 27, 2025, when it was reported that some park services were unavailable. Despite these disruptions, the main office in Carson City, regional offices, and park offices remained open to the public. However, the services they could provide were limited due to the ongoing issues.

During the disruption, communication was also impacted as phone lines were down. This left voicemails and emails as the primary means of communication. It is not mentioned when the phone lines were restored, but with the return to normal operation, it can be assumed that all communication channels are now functioning as usual.
