In addition to the surface land, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The California Trail Days event will provide an opportunity for the public to engage with these lands in a meaningful way, promoting understanding and appreciation of the natural resources and history the lands hold.

The California Trail Interpretive Center is an important hub for educating the public about the history and significance of the California Trail. The upcoming event will offer visitors a chance to learn more about this important historical route, the natural resources found along it, and the broader mission of the BLM.
