In addition to the surface land, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. This allows the bureau to manage not only the surface ecosystems, but also the wealth of natural resources that lie beneath.

The upcoming public tour of the Sutherland off-range wild horse corrals is part of the BLM’s commitment to transparency and public engagement. The event will provide an opportunity for the public to witness first-hand the care and management of wild horses, emphasizing the BLM’s dedication to the preservation of these animals and their habitats.
