Mayor Tim Keller praised the new facility, noting that it reflects Albuquerque’s pride, hospitality, and forward-thinking spirit. The Holding Pattern includes two new bathrooms, part of a citywide effort to expand access to clean, modern restrooms in neighborhoods, parks, and now at the Sunport. The facility’s location has been selected for convenience, making the waiting experience more comfortable and enjoyable for drivers and families.
Key features of The Holding Pattern include two large flight information display boards, 20% more parking than the previous lot, including ADA-compliant spaces, and future electric vehicle infrastructure. The facility also includes indoor restrooms, benches and tables, and 24-hour video surveillance for safety. The new facility, built on a previously vacant lot, was funded entirely through the Sunport’s enterprise fund, at no cost to taxpayers. The Holding Pattern is located at 2325 Sunport Loop SE, directly north of the main terminal building and adjacent to the Sheraton Hotel.
