“BLM Unlocks More Public Land in Colorado’s Garfield and Eagle Counties for Exploration and Enjoyment”

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Colorado has announced the reopening of more public land in Garfield and Eagle Counties. This move is part of the BLM’s mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

The BLM oversees about 245 million acres of public land primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska. This makes it one of the key entities managing land on behalf of the American people. The public lands are a significant asset for the country, providing space for recreation, conservation, and various economic activities.

In addition to the surface land, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. This involves managing resources below the surface, which can include minerals, oil, and natural gas. The reopening of more public land in Colorado will not only provide more space for public use but also potentially unlock more sub-surface resources for sustainable use.
