“Albuquerque Sunport Unveils FlySide Pass: Nontravelers Now Welcome Beyond Security for Dining, Shopping, and More”

The Albuquerque International Sunport has launched the ABQ FlySide Pass, a free digital pass permitting nontravelers to explore the terminal beyond security without a boarding pass. Starting November 25, individuals aged 18 and above can access the terminal to accompany or meet travelers, dine, shop, and experience the Sunport’s reimagined spaces. The spaces feature local New Mexican products, restaurants, and national brands. Visitors can also explore the Sunport’s art collection and historical displays, and enjoy live music by local performers.

Mayor Keller expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating that the FlySide Pass allows everyone to experience the culture, creativity, and cuisine of Albuquerque while supporting small businesses and celebrating the renovated Sunport. From December 2025, the Sunport will introduce Support Local Sunport Business Saturdays, where all Sunport concession merchants will offer 10% off purchases for both travelers and FlySide Pass visitors every Saturday of the month. The promotion aims to celebrate local businesses and invite the community to experience the revitalized terminal in a festive, affordable manner.

Visitors can request a FlySide Pass up to seven days in advance, with same-day approvals often provided within minutes. Pass holders will go through the TSA security checkpoint just like ticketed passengers. The FlySide Pass is free, digital, and easy to use. The hours of operation start at 4:00 a.m., seven days a week. However, currently, a federal system update is required for the FlySide Pass to include minors. The Sunport is working with TSA and the FlySide development team to complete the update as soon as federal systems allow, but no estimated completion date has been provided yet.
