“BLM Advances Land Management with New Decisions in Moab, Richfield, and Monticello”
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) oversees approximately 245 million acres of public land, primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska. This is done on behalf of the American people. In addition to this, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate across the nation. The main objective of the BLM is maintaining the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the benefit and enjoyment of current and future generations.
Recent authorizations and proposed decisions have been made in relation to areas in Moab, Richfield, and Monticello. These decisions and authorizations are part of the ongoing work of the BLM to manage and oversee the use of public lands and resources.
The BLM’s work ensures that the use of these lands is sustainable and beneficial for all, balancing the needs of the environment with those of the public. This includes managing resources such as minerals, which are found in the 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate that the BLM also administers.
