“BLM to Bolster Microplaya’s Natural Resources with New Bollards Installation”

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has announced plans to install bollards to protect natural resources on the Microplaya. This move is part of BLM’s mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the enjoyment of present and future generations.

The BLM is responsible for managing about 245 million acres of public land, mainly located in 12 western states, including Alaska. This management is carried out on behalf of the American people, ensuring that these lands remain accessible and preserved for a variety of uses.

In addition to the surface land, BLM also oversees 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The installation of bollards on the Microplaya is a part of their ongoing efforts to protect and manage these resources effectively.
