“Garfield County Unveils 14 Miles of Multi-Modal Travel Routes”

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has opened up 14 miles of routes in Garfield County, available for all modes of travel. The BLM, which manages about 245 million acres of public land primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, is dedicated to maintaining the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for both current and future generations.

The announcement means that these routes are accessible for different types of transportation, including walking, cycling, and driving. This move aligns with the BLM’s mission, which is to ensure that the public lands they administer are used and enjoyed by the public.

In addition to the surface land, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The opening of these routes in Garfield County is a part of their ongoing efforts to make public lands more accessible and usable for the American people.
