“Harvest Your Own Christmas Tree: BLM Colorado Opens Permit Applications”

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Colorado is offering permits to harvest Christmas trees. This move is part of the BLM’s mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the enjoyment of present and future generations. The BLM manages about 245 million acres of public land, primarily located in 12 western states, including Alaska.

In addition to the surface land, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The offer to harvest Christmas trees is part of their broader mandate to manage these lands responsibly and sustainably.

This initiative allows the public to participate in the sustainable management of these lands while also partaking in the festive tradition of Christmas tree harvesting. The permits are likely to be in high demand, given the widespread popularity of real Christmas trees during the holiday season.
