“Phoenix Sky Harbor’s Major Route Faces Nightly Closures for Two Weeks; Heavy Traffic Expected”
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has announced that due to project work at Terminal 3, Eastbound Sky Harbor Boulevard will be closed nightly for two weeks starting from September 18, 2025. The construction work is expected to cause heavy traffic disruptions, prompting airport authorities to advise passengers to allot extra time for their travel.
Travelers are encouraged to approach the airport from the east to avoid the construction zone. The airport officials are also recommending the use of PHX Sky Train® as an alternative mode of transportation to and from the airport during the construction period.
The closure is a part of a major route through the airport, hence, it is expected to significantly impact the traffic flow. However, the airport is taking necessary measures to ensure minimal disruption and inconvenience to passengers. The specific details of the project work at Terminal 3 have not been disclosed.
