Bureau of Land Management

“Public Opinion Sought on Proposed Crescent Valley Geothermal Project”

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking public input on a proposed geothermal project in Crescent Valley. The BLM, which manages over 245 million acres of public land primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, is responsible for the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for current and future generations. In addition to this, the BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation.

The proposed geothermal project in Crescent Valley is part of the BLM’s commitment to sustainable land management. Geothermal energy, which is derived from the natural heat of the earth, is a sustainable and renewable energy source. The project aims to harness this energy, contributing to the nation’s energy mix and helping to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

The BLM is now seeking public input on this proposed project. This is an opportunity for the public to express their views and concerns about the project, and to contribute to the decision-making process. The BLM values public participation in its projects and encourages all interested parties to provide their input.
